Why is your company signing the Commitment to Excellence?

Promethean is committed to supporting educators who help ensure that every U.S. high school graduate is STEM literate and on the path to a productive career.  We must increase our STEM literacy by providing programs and national awareness to this critical issue.  Promethean has been supporting STEM literacy by providing instructional tools to support our educators in this endeavor and collectively, as a nation, we depend on national initiatives such at CTEq to gain momentum.

What are your company’s specific PreK-12 STEM interests (e.g. computer programming, robotics, engineering, etc.)?

Promethean is specifically interested in providing lesson plans, activities and interactive technologies to support STEM instruction in PreK-12 around all curriculum strands.

What PreK-12 STEM programs, particularly those contained in STEMworks, does your company support?

Through Promethean Planet, the world’s largest interactive resource site for teachers with almost two million members, Promethean supports a repository of free interactive STEM instructional activities for use in the classroom.  Teachers can create and deliver differentiated activities using ClassFlow™ in an interactive, collaborative environment that supports STEM literacy.  By partnering with other organizations that support STEM literacy, Promethean is expanding the base of free resources for teachers.

Please share ways in which your company collaborates with state/local organizations or other companies around STEM learning.

Promethean is involved in many state and local activities designed to support STEM instruction throughout the state of Georgia, Promethean’s headquarters for the Americas.   In particular, Promethean’s CEO serves on the Georgia TAG Ed board of directors supporting STEM projects throughout the state with collaboration between industry, higher education and K-12.  Additionally, Promethean provides teaching resources on Promethean Planet to almost two million teachers world-wide, many which are focused on STEM literacy.
